The Future is Female Art Bootcamp

Education | Women Empowerment | Co-creation
The Future is Female Bootcamp brings together young women creatives from across Malawi to learn, experiment, and collaborate across disciplines.

The program, initated by Zomba Art Platform (ZAP), is a space to step out of comfort zones, discover new artistic languages, and build a culture of co-creation. We were asked to fascilitate a bootcamp in Zomba.

“For many women it was a completely new experience. Discovering art from around the world, co-working with other artists, and stepping outside the safety of their own discipline. This is what a successful co-creative session looks like. They even produced a full art installation on the subject Pain, worth seeing.” Renée de Vink, Capa Capa founder says.

Visual artist Tee Mlinga highlighted the power of meeting and making with women from different fields: “It opened my eyes to the power of women coming together and creating collectively. My biggest takeaway is that capacity building is not just about skills but also about mindset and collaboration.”
